Parramatta Leagues Club

The Parramatta Leagues Club is on O’Connell Street in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta. The Club is close to the Parramatta Stadium. It is a 45 minute drive from Sydney’s Greater Business District. A free shuttle bus travels to the club from the Parramatta Station during the day on weekdays and Saturdays. People come here for dining, entertainment and leisure. There is space available for functions.

The club started out as a one storey building in 1959. It was built to be a home for the Parramatta Eels football club. A second storey was added in 1961 and a third floor auditorium was added in 1964.

There are several restaurants in the Parramatta Leagues Club. Café 88 serves pasta, seafood, burgers and some Asian dishes. It is open for lunch and dinner every day. Asian food is served for lunch and dinner every day at Tingha Palace. It is recommended that guests make reservations to eat here. Light meals are served at the Tahoe Café. Items on the menu include sandwiches and wraps. This restaurant serves food all day and is open late. Sterlo’s Sports Bar is closed for renovation and will reopen as a pizza bar.

Entertainment at the Parramatta Leagues Club includes different types of live music and boxing. A Beatles tribute and a show featuring British pop music from the 1960s are two of the shows scheduled in 2011. Boxing matches are shown on a big screen television in the club’s auditorium.

The indoor heated pool at the club is open to members. Ladies’ Days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Men’s Days are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Club members can play poker, keno and bingo at the club.

Members have their choice of several rooms for functions. The Auditorium can hold up to 800 people for a cocktail style event. Up to 300 people can be seated for dinner and 450 people can sit in a theatre style. Two hundred people can be accommodated in the Wentworth Room for dinner. This room will hold 300 guests for a cocktail style event and 270 guests if the room is arranged in a theater style. The Eastern Room will hold 60 people for a cocktail style event. Forty guests will fit in this room for dinner.

The Parramatta Leagues Club is open from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. Members and guests will always find something to do here
